There are views of Paris. And then there is the one from Tout-Paris, following the Seine from Notre-Dame to the Eiffel Tower.
On the seventh floor of the Cheval Blanc Paris palace hotel on Quai du Louvre, this Michelin-starred haute couture brasserie lives up to its name: Peter Marino's interiors draw on Art Deco bistros, the atmosphere is elegantly lively, and the river below seems laid out for the evening.
The menu celebrates French classics: spatchcock pigeon, roast sole meunière, pain perdu with vanilla ice cream, orchestrated by executive chef William Béquin under the eye of Arnaud Donckele, the hotel's three-starred chef. A brasserie, certainly, but a Michelin-starred one.
The restaurant stays lively from morning to evening: family lunches every Sunday, dinners facing the sunset and an adjoining bar where you can continue without a reservation. In fine weather, the rooftop terrace is one of the most sought-after spots in Paris.
Because the view is unique, the energy infectious, and the food carries the signature of one of France's greatest chefs.
Le Tout-Paris, romance from above.
