There are North African restaurants. And then there is La Casbah, the bistro-meets-souk where the 11th arrondissement has been partying since the nineties.
Taken over by Aurélien Delaeter and the team behind Badaboum and Panic Room, the Rue de la Forge Royale institution has found a new lease of life: an Arabian Nights atmosphere, exuberant décor and a party energy that builds throughout the evening.
The menu, devised with consulting chef Abdel Alaoui, reinterprets the Mediterranean through sharing plates, generous dishes and memorable couscous parties. You eat well, take your time and stay on.
From 23:00 on Thursday to Saturday, music takes over: pop rock, dance, electronic music, groove and seventies disco. Wednesday is piano karaoke night, and some evenings feature belly dancing. It all continues until 05:30 on weekend nights: a rarity in Paris.
Because the party is as generous as a couscous feast: you arrive for dinner and leave in the early hours.
