Chef Yugo Ishikawa trained in a traditional restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo, before moving to Bordeaux in 2007. His own restaurant on rue du Hâ presents a broad view of Japanese cooking, with lunchtime set meals and a more extensive evening sequence.
The official lunch offer includes Teishoku, with a main course followed by dessert or coffee, and Gozen, which adds five small kobachi dishes. The evening menu lists several preparations, including sashimi, vegetable tempura and a choice of main course. These formats are more useful for planning than assuming that an older photographed dish will still be served.
Michelin describes a long, simply furnished dining room on a pedestrian street. The restaurant also advertises terrace seating, while warning that places are limited. Advance takeaway orders are possible, with separate deadlines before lunch and dinner. For a sit-down meal, book ahead and confirm the current menu and service time.
